Tax

International tax

When a business operates in more than one country, it has to reconcile the rules of each. We help you do it.

How we help

We advise Polish businesses that buy, sell, invest or employ people abroad, and foreign businesses that are starting to operate in Poland. We check in which country tax arises, how to apply a double tax treaty and what obligations a Polish company has when it makes payments abroad.

Most often this involves withholding tax on dividends, interest and royalties, permanent establishments abroad and the tax position of people who work in several countries. Our answers are simple: what needs to be done in Poland, what on the other side of the border and which documents are worth having.

A structure that makes sense

A company abroad should have economic substance – people, decisions and activity on the ground. We help assess an existing structure or plan a new one so that it complies with the law in each country and makes sense to the tax office, the bank and the shareholders.

When an assessment of another country’s law is needed, we help obtain it from a local adviser and combine both parts into one answer. We describe what starting a business here looks like on the Entering the Polish market page.
